Piano pick up for playable pianos under 48 inches tall in good condition or pianos over 48 inches tall in very good condition is now free. Free removals in this condition usually completed the same day if requested.
Removal of pianos in below-average condition will be charged normal piano moving rates. These are older uprights with cosmetic damage and 1-5 keys not playing. Pianos less than or equal to 45 inches tall will be charged $125 for removal, and pianos taller than 45" inches will be charged $150 for removal. Same day removal usually available by request. Free piano removal options available for pianos in this condition if you don't have a deadline.
Removal of pianos which are unusable for play or repair. Extreme pet damage, dirt, age or other damage.
Meg's Piano rarely purchases pianos. It is best to list your piano on Craig's List; we will find it if we are in the market to buy. If you don't want to deal with Craig's List, please send over photos and an asking price to megspiano@gmail.com, and we will do our best to purchase and remove your piano quickly.
Internet Consignment
$150 annual consignment fee plus 25% sales price commission. The owner decides the asking price.
We evaluate, photograph, video and list your piano on Meg's Piano and other sites. The piano stays in your location during consignment. Please ask for more details.
Traditional Consignment
Traditional consignment recommended for pianos with sales price over $5000. $500 bi-annual consignment fee (includes moving, tuning and set up at our shop) plus 35% of sales price. Seller is responsible for return moving expenses if the piano does not sell. The piano owner decides asking price. Please ask for more details.
Thank you for choosing us to remove your piano! Your piano will have another life. Depending on it's condition, the piano will be tuned to concert pitch, repaired, regulated, cleaned, delivered and then tuned again- usually to an Austin piano student or aspiring musician seeking an affordable piano, donated to charity, given to an artist or disassembled and reused for parts.
